Greater Severna Park and Arnold Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament
We love supporting local businesses. We donated golf tees and chap sticks to the Greater Severna Park and Arnold Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament. This year’s tournament is being held on September 14 at the gorgeous Chartwell Golf and Country Club.

Sanitizing Schools
SERVPRO of Annapolis/Severna Park provides proactive cleaning and sanitizing for local educational facilities. As you can see from the picture, our IICRC certified team fogged and cleaned the building using EPA-certified hospital-grade products. Our proven cleaning procedures and protocols have been used to clean and sanitize rhinovirus and norovirus in the past. We are implementing similar protocols, and we are "battle tested" in regards to virus cleanup.

Air Quality Act

In January, SERVPRO of Annapolis/Severna Park discussed indoor air quality with Delegate Henson. State Delegate Shaneka Henson represents Maryland Legislative District 30A. Our team was included in the discussion for legislation because of our industry perspective and outstanding reputation.
Delegate Henson is writing the Indoor Air Quality Act and hopes to present the bill in the near future.

Toys for Tots Delivery

Shoptoberfest
SERVPRO of Annapolis/Severna Park sponsored and participated in the Greater Severna Park and Arnold Chamber of Commerce’s Shop Local Shoptoberfest. The festival was held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the Park Plaza in Severna Park. Sales and Marketing Manager, Phil Dumenil, dressed up as a fortune teller, told fortunes, and gave out fortune cookies to trick or treaters.

AACIA Breakfast
On Wednesday, October 2, 2019, SERVPRO of Annapolis/Severna Park hosting a breakfast meeting for the Anne Arundel Commercial and Industrial Association (AACIA). is a local, non-profit networking group located in Annapolis, Maryland. The group is focused on commercial real estate trends in the local marketplace. The purpose of the group is to promote its members and their businesses. The group typically meets once a month at a commercial property in the Anne Arundel County area featuring a key note speaker and networking.

Team SERVPRO Survivors
On Sunday, September 8, 2019 the SERVPRO Survivors Team walked in memory of Mike Whittles and Clive Sonde. The Lustgarten Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk was held in Annapolis.
As the largest private funder of pancreatic cancer research, the Lustgarten Foundation is relentlessly focused on funding research that will improve patient outcomes. Our scientists are developing earlier detection tests and new, more effective treatment approaches that are helping patients today.
Sunday’s walk raised over $200,000 for the foundation. SERVPRO of Annapolis/Severna Park was also a corporate sponsor. Mike Whittles, founder or SERVPRO of Annapolis/Severna Park, lost his battle with Pancreatic Cancer in 2012. Clive Sonde lost his battle with Pancreatic Cancer in 2005.

Back-To-School Donation
In support of the SERVPRO of Annapolis/Severna Park community, our franchise distributed 500 rulers to elementary schools. We all know back-to-school supplies can be expensive. By donating rulers to schools we hope to ease some of the financial burden parents and teachers feel.

NNE All Agent Conference
Marketing Support Coordinator, Rikki, recently attended the Farmers Insurance All Agent Conference in Atlantic City New Jersey.
Four other SERVPRO franchises participated in the event.

Summer Intern
SERVPRO® of Annapolis/Severna Park is pleased to announce that a Marketing Intern will be joining us this summer. Claire McCabe has grown up around the company with her father being a franchise business consultant for twelve years.
McCabe is a rising junior at Lynn University located in Boca Raton with a major of Advertising & Public Relations and a minor in Journalism. At her university she is the Junior Account Executive the student run agency, Pulse Agency. She created and collaborated with the HabCenter of Boca Raton management building social media campaign, filmed and edited promotional video which is currently displayed on their web page with thousands of viewers. This class also provided event opportunities working with Above & Beyond Advertising Agency.
Her previous experience with SERVPRO® includes working for the franchise of Easton, MD. She was a Web Video Liaison Intern for the summer of 2016. McCabe created training videos for 5 franchises stores focusing on operations in different locations for implementation of best practices. Along with videos, she also promoted the brand as representative for Maryland and Northern Virginia trade shows.
This past summer McCabe was a Marketing Assistant Intern for Treebranch, Group, LLC., located in Millersville, MD. She created original content and designed images to accompany content for social media campaigns.

Light House Shelter Food Drive
The Light House has provided emergency shelter, transitional and supportive housing, homelessness prevention and related support services to people who are homeless and at risk of homelessness in Anne Arundel County for 30 years.
SERVPRO® of Annapolis/Severna Park is collecting food items for the Light House until June 28, 2019.

20th Annual Legislative Breakfast
On January 17, Trish Turner represented SERVPRO of Annapolis/Severna Park at the 20th Annual Legislative Breakfast. Trish enjoyed breakfast with our elected officials from Maryland State, Anne Arundel County, and Annapolis City government.

Fight Colorectal Cancer
Phil and his bowling team attended the Strike out Cancer with country music star, Chad Bearden, on November 18. This private event was held at Severna Park Lanes with food provided by Outback Steakhouse. We are proud to support our community in this event.

Phil had a super time networking with some zombies at the Pasadena Business Association trade fair on Thursday, October 11.
SERVPRO of Annapolis/Severna Park was granted 2 free tickets to the event because of our involvement in the association.

National Night Out 2018
Phil Dumenil of SERVPRO Annapolis/Severna Park participated in National Night Out at the Earleigh Height Fire Station. We are proud to support the relationship between our first responders and the community.

Farmer's Insurance Blood Drive
Phil Dumenil of SERVPRO Annapolis/Severna Park donated blood for the Farmer's Insurance Blood Drive in Arnold Maryland. Blood donations were donated to our local Anne Arundel Medical Center. Phil is the man!
