Fire Prevention Week
10/6/2021 (Permalink)
Since 1922, the National Fire Prevention Association has sponsored the observance of Fire Prevention week. This public observance was made official by President Calvin Coolidge in 1925, making it the longest running public observance in the United States. This year, Fire Prevention Week begins on Sunday, October 3rd and runs until Saturday, October 9th. During this week, people of all ages learn about the measures they should take to both prevent and in case of a fire.
This year’s campaign is “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety!” works to educate people about the different sounds smoke and carbon monoxide alarms make. The National Fire Prevention Association has a handful of articles on its website explaining what to do in case of emergency, what actions to take to prevent emergencies, and even what kinds of alarms you can get for family members who are deaf or hard of hearing.
SERVPRO of Annapolis wants you and your family to stay safe and know what to do in case of emergency.
